Sessions:
Week 1 - Food…It’s Complicated
Eating is no longer simple. What we eat, when we eat, how we eat, why we eat - it all matters. Together, we sit with and acknowledge this reality and collectively learn to reclaim the joy of food when it feels like a daily burden. Sunday 4/11, @ 12pm PST (SNEAKY PEAKY: We eat chocolate together!)
Week 2 - The Relentless Waiting Game
Waiting is an exhausting element within the T1D journey. Together we sit with and acknowledge this reality and collectively learn how to move out of frustration and into patience. 4/18, @ 12pm PST (SNEAKY PEAKY: A mystery group adventure.)
Week 3 - Information Overload
The average Type 1 Diabetic faces about 180 health related decisions per day to manage their condition and keep blood sugar levels in check. Together we learn how to reduce the noise and re-discover what’s best for you -- leaning back into the basics. 4/25, @ 12pm PST (SNEAKY PEAKY: A love letter, from you.)
Week 4 - Burnout
Scattered, indecisive, exhausted, and unmotivated — sound familiar? These are symptoms of burnout. We need a break but Type 1 diabetes is lifelong. How can we find freedom from something we will always be tethered to? 5/2, @ 12pm PST (SNEAKY PEAKY: Did someone say…dry brushing?)
Each session is 90 minutes and you’ll need:

**SPACE IS LIMITED TO KEEP FOCUS AND COMMUNITY**
FAQ’s:
Q: What is Retreat into Rest?
Retreat into Rest was created by Whitney Lewis and Bella Girovich, two tired T1D women that were looking for ways to practice rest in community. Get ready for fun, connection, education, and meditative practices that will fill your bone-dry cup up back to the brim. You need it, you deserve it, AND you get to do it in sisterhood — surrounded by other T1D women from around the world needing the same.
Q: When is it?
We will meet weekly, starting Sunday, April 11. Each session will be 90 minutes long and will consist of time to dive into the science behind the topic, journaling, meditation/breathwork, and group reflection!
Q: Who can join?
Retreat into Rest open to all self-identifying women with Type 1 Diabetes! We are keeping the group capped in order to maintain focus and intimacy, so we definitely recommend signing up early if you are interested!
Q: What do I need to bring?
Required items:
Journal & pen
Comfortable, quiet space
Optional, but highly encouraged items:
Eye mask for meditation & breathwork
Candle
Blankets & pillows for comfort!
Note: Each individual session may have additional items that are required or encouraged. We will send an email to all registered participants one week in advance so that you can come prepared!
Q: How do I join the sessions?
These sessions will take place over Zoom. If you are unable to attend one of the sessions, we will record them and you can watch at a later date!
Q: How do I know this retreat is right for me?
As women living with type 1 diabetes, we are constantly inundated with numbers, calculations, and internal & external pressures related to diabetes. If you know, you know- it’s a lot. One of the most effective ways to combat diabetes overwhelm is by coming together in community and caring for ourselves and one another.
While there will be an educational portion to the retreat, this is designed to complement the restful practices that we will be exploring together. We have designed these sessions to leave you feeling grounded and supported.
